Change is possible
Life is a story of personal growth. We grow through our relationships, life experiences and daily routines, and sometimes we have unwanted or problematic thoughts and feelings. We all have them when loved ones die, when we have difficult relationships and when we experience work stress. Sometimes we don’t want to feel the way we do and it can be a worry. Just like with our physical health, many of us need a little support with our psychological health when we’re not feeling good.
Difficult thoughts and feelings are a part of every day life and everyone experiences them sometimes. It takes courage to seek help and deal with them. If you are reading this, you’ve already started on that path.
If you take the next steps,
I will help you get back to feeling
like yourself again.
About me
Psychology is a broad field, and I find it often helps to explain the kind of psychologist I am and the types of therapy I offer. I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years experience in NHS Mental Health care - which means most of my career has been spent working with people who have been referred to NHS services for mental health problems.
I am a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society. I’m an accredited tutor with The Association of Psychological Therapies (APT) - the leading provider of training for professionals (doctors, nurses and therapists) working in mental health and related areas.
I also offer therapy to people who need help on a private basis, working directly or via health insurance providers.
I use evidence-based therapies to help you understand your feelings, your behaviour and build on your strengths.
I work with wide range of common issues and conditions. These include typical mental health problems you will be familiar with like anxiety and depression, and some that are more specialised like helping people with longer-term issues like personality disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
I also help people work through a broad range of personal challenges including personal identity problems, sexuality and relationship problems, trauma, bereavement, eating disorders, low self-esteem, stress-management and attachment difficulties.
